Eclipse Mode - Terms of Use

In light of the upcoming eclipse event, we have updated the Terms of Service for our Singularity app.

To continue enjoying our app and to ensure you don't miss out on the eclipse observation, it's essential to accept these new Terms of Service. Without your acceptance, access to the app will unfortunately be restricted.

In order to enhance your experience, you have the option to remove the solar filter and disable the safety mechanism during the total eclipse. However, please note that this action carries a risk of damaging your instrument. You can find recommendations within our Singularity app to help mitigate these risks when removing the solar filter or disabling the safety mechanism.
Please remember that removing the solar filter and disabling the safety mechanism are entirely optional and are intended solely to enhance your experience.

In this regard, we would like to draw your attention to an important clause added to the Terms of Service regarding the removal of the filter during totality and the functionality of disabling the safety mechanism:

Removal of the solar filter integrated into Vaonis products and deactivation of the safety mechanism are the sole responsibility of the user. In this context, the user undertakes to take all precautions recommended by Vaonis on Singularity. Consequently, Vaonis cannot be held responsible for any type of damage caused by the removal of the solar filter before the total eclipse and/or the folding back of the solar filter after the total eclipse and/or the deactivation of the security mechanism.

For more details on these changes and tips for safely observing the eclipse, we encourage you to read the dedicated article on our website.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
