Update 1.19 - April 30th 2020

Update 1.19 - April 30th 2020

Stellinapp version: 1.19
Software version: V17

In order to fully take advantage of the latest STELLINA improvements, we recommend you update your device. The latest update includes:

  • Observation based on user-defined set of coordinates:you can now point STELLINA anywhere in the sky. In order to apply the most appropriate image processing, you must first choose the type of objects you are viewing (nebula, galaxy, cluster, stars), then enter the coordinates which are based on the J2000 system (right ascension and declination). They are easily accessible on websites such as Wikipedia or Stellarium. One needs to enter data in the 6 fields but it is not necessary to enter figures after the decimal point.
  • Search of objects by constellation: very useful when you know which constellations are within your field of vision.
  • Export images in TIFF format: a 16-bit uncompressed file of the final image (already stacked) for users wishing to process their images on software such as Photoshop. To retrieve this type of image, go to Profile > Settings > Allow TIFF export.
  • New USB detection: a pop-up will now inform you when your USB drive has been detected, then will ask you the type of files to save (fits and/or jpg).
  • Automatic folding of STELLINA‚Äôs arm at sunrise (during an observation only).
  • 5 new targets: the comet C/2019 Y4 (ATLAS), the double star Albireo, the Ghost of Cassiopeia IC59, the nebula NGC 6823 and the open cluster NGC 6820 and the Cosmic Rose nebula NGC 7129.
  • Bug corrections, including the Wi-Fi bug reported during observation of the planets and the Moon.

To ensure that the updates are installed correctly, it is important to wait until STELLINA is completely restarted (last phase which can take several minutes.)
