Plan My night Tutorial

The Plan my Night feature will allow you to schedule your observations all night long.

Please note that this is currently only working with objects in the catalog, not manual targets.


  1. Click on the “+” Create a plan

  1. Select your observatory

  1. Select the date of the observation night

  1. Name your plan

  1. Plan my night interface



Explanation of the search bar:


  • When clicking on , the user can enter manually the object name requested

  • When clicking on , the user can select different filters:


  • When clicking on , the user can choose between the grade that Vaonis has chosen (most requested objects) or by the duration of the object over night.


  1. Select the duration of the observation by clicking on the object blue line. Click on the starting or finishing observation time to select the duration of your observation. Click on Add to add the object to the plan.



  1. Keep adding the objects to fill your Plan My Night


  1. When you have finished, click on the SAVE button


  1. You will see a confirmation that your plan has been saved. Connect to your Stellina in order to transfer the data to the instrument.

You don’t need to initialize the instrument as it can be done automatically a few minutes before the plan starts. Make sure the instrument is in standby mode: The instrument must be connected to Singularity.


  1. You can edit or delete a plan anytime before it has started by clicking on the “pen” or “bin” icons.



  1. When a plan has started, if you want to apply any changes, you will need to stop the current plan, request the changes and save your plan again. 


  1. To check the pictures of your plan, go back to the Plan my Night tab and select the plan that you have created. You will hve a summary of the plan and the pictures taken. You can click on each observation to check the pictures:
